They had a really cold winter outdoors too and stayed dry for a few months while it was freezing outside. But got lots of light during the cold weather.

I think eventually just about every catt on the bench is going to bloom this summer fall or winter

you really got to look at your location and find the spot that gives you as much sun during the day as you can possibly get without burning these up. Ive seen people fry them and get tons of blooms but then you have to deal with a stressed out plant. Its not the end of them but Im not so good that I can bring them back yet from the edge of extinction.

Thank you for sharing your culture. I wondered because of course I get more light in the winter when all the trees surrounding my house are without leaves. So come spring and summer I start to lose a lot of light as the trees fill out. My south-facing window gets a couple hours of direct light in the mid-afternoon whereas my east-facing window (where my Phals and Paphs live) gets pretty bright light in the morning for several hours and then a lot more shaded light for the rest of the day, but it does seem to get a greater percentage of light overall than the south window. That light is a lot more shaded. Given the bright, bright light in the south window in the winter i thought that would be the place for light-loving plants but I'm on the fence. Almost doesn't seem right to keep some catts with my shadier plants but maybe this is a better light location. So I was curious how you kept yours happy without necessarily "following the rules" so to speak.
