Promenaea riograndensis

I have always wanted one of these plants when I have seen them at shows, but for some reason, I have never purchased one. Friday, I went to Larry's Orchids and Tropicals and purchased this orchid, in bloom, off of the "ugly duckling" table. The plant will need a little TLC, but for the price it was a steal.

nikkik I love this one, and they are great for the spike show - mine is in multiple spike already for some 2 months, at one point there was over 10 buds together. Amazing small orchid!

Beautiful flower....Promenaeas are not ugly....in fact some of them are fragrant=love their spots and the pointy petals=the form is classic beauty....just you wait until the rim of your pot will be arrayed with flowers....

Thank you so much, Bud! I am a big fan of their spots too. I have tried at multiple times to smell the flower, but so far I haven't detected a fragrance.
