here is a first time bloomer.

sadly flowers are not long lived, the scent is extraordinary and strong. this one has a good shape, but they are variable as well. lip color changes from blooming to blooming on the same plant

not an easy orchid to grow, because the rot easy.

this orchid is best grown mounted, with tons of water while growing and less frequent watering when resting (reason why mouting is important for the rest period)

mine is potted, with lots of air (fan) making sure the plant gets dry fast after watering.

That one is a beauty. I bought one about 6 months ago so hope I can keep it alive and bloom it.

After the new pbulb has finished, it flowers. And after flowering the plant is programmed to undergo a long warm and dry rest period, with sufficient light. If kept too moist, too dark and too cool in this rest period, it easily starts to rot. Maybe you have to bring the plant inside and put it in your living room.

I will put a heat mat under mine come winter. Thanks for the info.
