Please id former "schomburgkia" plant?

I bought a former schomburgkia which is now laelia or something with a "m".

I think it could be humboltii. And in the genus of the "M". I see ants on the plant then they scatter to the base of the pseudobulb where there is a small hole in each of the bulbs. The bulb is hollow and the flowers are fragrant.

Can you educate me how to grow this plant?

Any comments and advice would be greatly appreciated!

It is indeed a very nice humboldtii.

i have not grown any myrmecophila other than tibicinis. so i cant help with its care.

it looks a well grown plant tho, whatever you are doing with it , it seems it likes it. or you might want to talk to the person who sold it. if that is the case.

I agree with Antonio regarding the plant's identity (Myrmecophila humboldtii). It should appreciate lots of warmth throughout the year (I don't think this species is known for having any appreciable degree of tolerance for cool temperatures), high humidity and lots of light. You might even be able to introduce the plant (slowly, over a period of two to three weeks) to direct sunlight. Orchids from this group are famous for becoming large monsters if you give them what they want. Good luck with your new acquisition. It's quite a beauty (both plant and blooms).

Yeah these are from Mexico/Central America so they like a lot of humidity, light, and warmth

Myrmecophilia means Lover of Ants in Greek. I think they might share a symbiotic relationship of some type, like peonies and some other plants who rely on ants to help open their buds. Does anyone have the whole story on this? Just wondering.
