Thank you!

I know the feeling!

I was doubly lucky with this plant - firstly, spotting it at Trader Joe's; secondly, not being charged for it after the cashier accidentally knocked off one of the flowers!

Trader Joe's?! Now I'm really jealous. I've found a few there that I like (wildcat, little noid phal, maxillaria tenuifolia), but never anything in the cattleya alliance that wowed me. I wish I didn't have a love/hate relationship with that place...don't care for a lot of their food, but I love the orchids!

Well - it was not nearly as wonderful looking when I got it, but, it was a cute little thing - much smaller growth and flowers; color and spotting not as good - I'm thrilled with how well it has turned out!

Another I got at TJ's ('09), that I thought was "kind of cute" at the time, which has gone on to be much better than it was when I got it http://www.orchidboard.com/community...eri-bloom.html

And this one Brassocatanthe Little Mermaid - probably - while it was also "cute" when I got it at TJ's, subsequent bloomings have had bigger flowers with much better color.

My Catts from TJ's all started quite small, but, along with getting much bigger and better flowers with time, the pbulbs, leaves have also gotten much bigger - I imagine they may be brought to bloom very young, and not yet at their best.

I used to love the orchids at TJs - most of the time, they had interesting ones (I also got my now huge Onc Sharry Baby there), but the ones near me, at least, don't often have much that's "a great find" anymore Not such a bad thing for me, perhaps, as I am very tight on space for orchids now
But, unlike you, I like to shop there

Mine has been quite the trouble for me.
I bought it last summer in bloom. It since grew a few leads but not even a single sheath.
It is now working on yet another new lead.
Go figure!

Hmm... mine hasn't bloomed on every new growth, but has bloomed three times since I got it two years ago. The first re-bloom was probably about a year after I got utmost. Hope yours blooms soon!
