Interesting about the nodosa. I have a Morning Glory (a nodosa hybrid) in semi-hydro, and it's blooming. It didn't get a dry period at all.

From what I read on the culture sheets, hybrids of b. nodosa often do not need a dry period, even though the species plants themselves do.

A lot of species are touchy compared to the hybrids produced from them. I think this is just as true for b. nodosa as it is for phalaenopsis.

I only have one compact (I believe it is so, Slc. Jewel Box 'Dark Waters'?) besides these minis. Well and Blc. Guess What x Schamburkgia luedemannii & Blc. Waianae Leopard 'Ching Hua'; Guess what/Schamb is a seedling yet & Waianae should bloom next year. Are minis happy with say a south facing window that gets some afternoon direct but mostly a lot of shaded, mottled light? (Got Onc. Heaven Scent, Zygolum Rhein Moonlight, Tolumnia Buck Hollow, & Tolumnia lucayana there, they all seem happy enough).

The minis arrived today looking pretty great as far as I can tell. Some have wrinkled bulbs but they all have at least one new growth and arrived in fine bark/perlite it appears. AND I got 3 "gift" minis, duplicates of some I ordered!!
