LC Golden Sands 'Elizabeth Off' AM/AOS
I damaged this plant so badly during the winter by not watering for a loooong time and the two leads with sheaths just gave up.
Once I started watering good again, it threw one more lead and now it is about to bloom. One bud peeking out and there is another one inside the sheath.
Such a tough plant and very willing bloomer!

Fully Open!
Beautiful golden yellow just like its name!
Last year, I had a lot of flowers because I cared for it well through the winter not like what I did this past winter. but the color was really bad, washed out yellow.
This is the color when I bought the plant in 2012.
It has a stronger fragrance than last years bloom as well.
There is another flower right behind this one, so it does not show in the picture.
Enjoy~

What a beautiful yellow! You may not have taken great care of it, but at least you still get to see it this year

I actually wanted to kill it by drying it out. lol
It is just too big. It is a standard sized catt and it grows rather fast. at least two leads a year.
I love the flowers and how tough the plant is but...
Maybe I will cut the whole thing in half and keep one half of it. really don't know.
I'm looking for something similar, beautiful large yellow flower on a small plant, if such hybrids exist. lol

Haha, poor thing! Maybe you should just keep chopping it down for now...you may not get tons of blooms this way, but it still fills the large yellow flower niche.

I know.
I only have two flowers on one spike, but last year I got two spikes with four and three on each.
This plant is like a flowering machine.
It has a pattern. It throws two leads in the summer into fall, then they both spike in the spring.
So even with division, it's not bad, but of course, more is better. and it blooms once a year.
Twice a year would also be nice. lol
