Cattleya luteola
This is a first bloom with two flowers. The shape is ok (though the kink in both of the left petals is frustrating!) and the color is pleasing, but not great. I'll see how it blooms next time around and decide if its a keeper or one to trade. Enjoy!

Very nice. For sure wait for another bloom. Some change a lot as they mature.

Looks pretty good. I hope the next bloom will be better for you. I have quite a few seedlings, some crosses, so I have no idea how they will turn out.

hmm, i don't see anything wrong about it Steve,
yes it is a typical color form , but it does look good, take a picture of the lip. as i can see a good color int he throat,
do not judge first bloomers : and i thnk that plant has potential, depending on how vigorous the plant is.
Give it time!
there are ones that turns more into "greenish" than yellowish , that are rare color forms.
Antonio.

I think it's lovely!! That "kink" is so mild I didn't see it at first.

Thanks for the kind words!
Antonio, this one is actually quite a bit more green than the previous luteolas that I've seen. We'll have to see what it does on the next bloom, which should happen in the coming months.

How old is this plant? I'm curious because I'd like to know how old cattleya luteola have to be to bloom. It looks very pretty.
