Cheryl, What a beautiful flower! I'm sure you're thrilled with it. My Bc Makai X Bl Morning Glory is in spike now for the very first time (three spikes) and I can hardly wait! Really don't know what to expect.

Shirley - there is a short article here on Bc Maikai x Bl Morning Glory - though no picture - check out page 2. http://www.larchhillorchids.com/newsletterjuly06.pdf
With Bc Maikai = (Brassavola nodosa x Cattleya bowringiana) and Bl. Morning Glory = (Laelia purpurata x Brassavola nodosa) - it's going to be stunning (IMHO)

Cheryl you are going to be impressed at how vigorous your plant will be. Example: Two years ago I accidentally broke a single pseudobulb with a leaf from my plant. Rather than toss it I potted it in a two inch pot. It currently has about eight pseudobulbs and two flower spikes.

OK, I'll try again with a file under 97kB. Hey, just 'cause I'm from the south doesn't make me completely stupid, just partially stupid.

Just getting to this thread--I've been so busy with Christmas!

Anyway, mine has been blooming since Thanksgiving! It is starting to finish up now, but I've posted a few photos. My grower told me to give it good light through the summer and it will bloom for the holidays. She was right!
