Catt intermedia, var. vinicolor

I am not really into Catts, but I do have a weakness for semi-albas with bold lips. At the Deep Cut show I was working a sales table next to Ecuagenera, and they had both a Laelia purpurata and a Cattleya intermedia marked as 'var. vinicolor'. Standing next to those plants for 3 days was more than I could handle, so they are both in my collection now.

They are not really established yet, but the intermedia decided to bloom anyway. I hope that it will improve when it gets stronger, but the colors are attractive:

Not a bad bloom for a recently imported plant. Next year's bloom should be pretty nice!

as a rule i do not let the bloom stay for long in a non established plant. but that is just me.

nice lip, with the years flower size and count should increase.
