I posted this on another forum, thought I would re-post here. I can't take any credit for the flowers, other than having a little luck and a watchful eye while looking at a recent shipment of "bag babies". While I was looking over the new arrivals, I noticed this one had 2 buds on it!
A couple days later, the first bud opened - sort of at an odd angle, looking straight up (probably due to it being in a bag):
Another day, second bud open, but the buds are not completely unfolded:
Finally, blooms fully open (and both blooms still star-gazing):
At least one of the flowers has rotated to face sideways after this. The flowers are about 3 inches (8.5 cm) across, largest dimension, on a compact plant. VERY fragrant in the morning, least fragrant (though it is still there) at night. My only complaint is that the grex Lc. Lory Ann does not seem to be in the RHS International Orchid Register, which is a pity. I could see this plant being a breeding candidate if I knew it's ancestry.
