Dear All;
At the time of our Orchidays exibition in May 2008, I will wish to do a presentation on the mini-cattleyas, those which one cultivates on the windowsills. I thus seek informations on the selection criteria of the parents used by the hybriders to create those. Any remarks or references on this subject will be very apprecied. Many thanks in advance.
The price is very modest and they may provide you with a complimentary sheet or two. I have used this service for several years, and have never been disappointed.
Sorry, I am not looking for culture informations, but informations on the strategy used for the choice of the parents to create the mini catts (hybidization).
The best place to look is in a database such as OrchidWiz. The building blocks of minicats are pretty obvious along with the primary hybrids that lead to the more complex hybrids. If you want specifics, I am willing to help. I have previously done lectures on minicat breeding for judges, showing the evolution of hybridizing, the breeding traits, and the most awarded plants.

Thank you very much for your response: have you a reprint of your presentation or a Power Point file of your presentation?
I will have to check to see if I still have my presentation notes. It was done with a slide projector (the old way) with AOS award slides. If I don't still have it, then I could put something together for you that might be helpful.
