Epidendrum calanthum Male
Default Epidendrum calanthum

I have it for a two years and it is first time blooming.
last year it started with two spikes but then suddenly stopped. it was planted in bark in ceramic pot and it did not look very happy. I have repotted it in s/h. during the spring and summer it had a period of strong growth
.
It seems like I've hit the optimum conditions. Now it has 5 spikes with a lot of flowers. The plant together with spikes is 1.5 meters high.

Nice plant, cbuchman. But with the nonresupinated flowers (lip upside, column downside) I consider it to be a different species, probably Epid. secundum.
