Default Leptotes bicolor Keiki?

A close inspection of one of my L. bicolors turned up what I believe is a keiki forming on a spike. It's too small and my phone cam too crappy to get a clear pic. Do they grow in this manner?

I'm not sure of call anything leptotes makes as keikies. That's just how they grow. Almost like a new plant with each growth.

I see. That explains why I keep hearing how quickly it gets to be a specimen.

I would not be completely surprised if it happened. I have seen other Cattleya Alliance plants do that on rare occasion.

Cattleya Alliance plants, other then reed stem Epidendrums and a few oddballs, rarely get keikis. When they do it is usually at/near the top of the pseudobulb rather than on a spike. But if you're getting leafy growth, watch for roots. You never know.

It's right where a spike is coming out of a pseudobulb, so I suppose it could be......time will indeed tell!
