This is my only bag baby to date. I love it, it has sent out 3 new growths and I am not sure but maybe a spike growing. It is coming directly off a cane so I am not sure, but maybe!

on a cattleya, each new growth has the possibility of flowering....they don't make 'spikes' like some other orchids....the new growth forms a psuedobulb and at the top, a leaf....where the leaf and the psuedobulb join is where the 'sheath' comes out, and that is what forms the buds....good luck!

Hi Kindrag -
I've been buying quite a few bag babies over the last 8 months. One is Blc Copper Queen. Since I didn't find any pictures when I searched Catt Coopers Queen, I thought maybe yours was also a Blc Copper Queen.
Anyways, good growing

Oh, and for any that are interested, my Lowes has their bag babies marked down, small ones regular price $6.00-7.00 are $3.00 and large ones regular price $12.00-13.00 are $5.00. So, check your Lowes!

Thanks for reminding me of that. This will just be another high up growth instead of at the base.
