BLC. Ports of paradise
Have had this one for several years, have always had a want for this one. Back in the early 80's Stewart's orchids had this on front cover of catalog, fell in love with it until I looked inside and found out it was $350.00 for a NBS 4" pot, worth it but not having that kinda money, it was a dream, today Ebay 20.00, wow. Never would have guessed 30 years ago that orchids would become so cheap and also a deposable plant like most orchids you see in big stores, people buy, flowers fade, plant trashed, so sad,
Flowers fade to lime yellow, smell like sweet citrus, easy grower.

I have a couple and they bloom every year. Very nice plant and like you say, easy to grow. Love the scent. Yours is nice.

I purchased my Ports of Paradise 'Emerald Isle' from Hausermann's about five or six years ago... for the fragrance, of course! Was told that this cultivar is capable of blooming twice a year, and one of my division of it indeed has. :-) Thank you for sharing!

Very lovely. This is one I would love to have if I had more growing room.

oh very nice! this is one of my fav's too, I just love the green! it is amazing what cloning has done for availability of orchids, what was once the 'pleasure of princes' seen only in those beautiful old glass conservatories, is now possible for us at home to enjoy! I still absolutely LOVE going thru one of the majestic glasshouses across the country that are filled with well maintained orchids...it is such a rarity nowdays!

I got this on the mark down at Home Depot last summer. It was thrown in a box with other abused and suffering orchids. I saw that it was trying to send up a new growth but was stuck in the plastic netting. I grabbed it, took it home and potted it up. It took off and now has several new growths..... looking real nice. Can't wait 'till it booms with flowers like yours.
