Laelia lundii in bloom (in spite of the snow storms)

This is beautiful! I'm not familiar with the growth habits of this species, but it looks like it blooms on special growths in a similar manner to Catt. walkeriana & nobilior. Is this true or do the growths continue to mature after the blooms have faded? Very interesting plant.

What's the name on this one? It looks a lot like an Slc. or other complex hybrid, so it might not be a great comparison.

After the flower is gone, it continues to be a mature bulb with one leaf. The two leafed bulb produces another bulb that contains the spike then produces a single leaf after the blooms have faded.
*if you look at picture 2 the leftmost bulb with a single leaf have the dried spike in it.
