Is it usual for a rather young Cattleya amethystoglossa to be blooming? I bought one that was described as a "flowering sized seedling" from a very reputable grower back in October and it has 2 buds! I thought these were hard to bloom? Should I be worried?
My experience is that it is unusual for a small C. amethystoglossa to bloom. It's not that they're difficult to bloom but that they usually need to be fairly large before they bloom. Mine were over two feet tall before they first bloomed. Maybe some bloom on younger plants. I really don't know.

Why would you be worried?! lol
Anyway, I had mine bloom at about a foot and half tall. You just got an eager plant! I look forward to the pics.
This could have been cloned from plants that bloomed sooner than normal. Selective cloning is great for everyone. Remember the conditions this was grown in are different from what we can usually provide. Keep it warm and give it bright light so I will grow well and flower next year.
