Default Laeliocattleya NOID with deformed blossom

Last year this plant had 2 nice blossoms. This year I was all enthused seeing 3 buds enlarging, and waited --and waited --until they opened. The first 2 were nice. The third was grotesque. Is it peloric?

Gruess dich Silberhaarig
Could this perhaps be a form of polyploidalism (is that even a word?), as I too have a few Catts that will do this on occasion.
Blooms regular one year and then kind of like getting rid of all the "bad genes" the next and growing ... just strange.
Either way, it's a beautiful flower that you have there.
Ciao for now

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Nancy. I've seen this happen every once in a while. Who knows why. Next year will probably be perfect. I agree, it is a real beauty.

Thankyou both for the positive view. I had visions of getting several of such monsters next time it blooms.
