The flower is holding on pretty strong.
I'm honestly surprised.

I got it a nifty decorative pot lol. Reminds me of my Great Grandfather.

I like this a lot, but as you assumed, Blazing Sun is not a registered hybrid, so far at least. I recently looked at this from an online auction vendor, but if their supplier ever got back to them with an answer on the cross they never got back to me. I just don't go for NoIDs, but soon that will probably be all that is commercially available the way things are going.

Don't know about where you live but here in SoCal the orchid business is thriving with many nurseries and hybriders. 10 just within driving distance.

Figures lol. I love it though.

Really? I'm noticing the opposite trend.
Now at least half of the orchids at local stores come with tags. And the number keeps rising.

Indeed it is. It's almost completely replaced traditional houseplants and cut flowers in my part of SoCal.

Im dragging this back up again for two reasons.
The flower is still going! Woo!
And second.
It has a very pleasing lovely fragrance.
I'm never up this early so I missed it until now.
But in the morning it has a lovely fragrance that reminded me instantly of..... daffodils!

I'm sensing a theme with this orchid lol.

It's got a very nice daffodil scent but without the musk.

I'm very very very happy with this purchase.

Quick shot.
Just cause.

I busted out laughing when I saw the bong in the background because I imagined you getting really baked and staring your orchids. That cattleya is gorgeous the color is blindingly bright.

Wow. Lol.
I didn't know that was in the pictures. I try pretty hard to exclude those from my photos.

It's mainly for my carpal tunnel and social anxiety. But the scenario you mentioned has been known to happen.

It's an amazing cattleya and has quickly made a home in my heart.

If there was only such a thing as a so-cal Trader Joes tour vacation, you]d get a lot of us midwestren orchid fans on your bus. Think about it.
