Laelia purpurata var. carnea
This one has good shape for this variety, but the lip could be a little larger to favor the harmony of the flower.

Good lip, though the petals are excessively keeled. It is a common setback, but it is possible to find flatter ones nowadays.

Hi Mauro....I just acquired a Laelia v carnea x 'Carmen'.
Would you happen to know what it might look like? I see your v. carnea has a pinkish lip as opposed to salmon coloured lip that I've been finding, but can't find one crossed with 'Carmen'.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Helen!
I haven't seen the clone 'Carmen' yet, but being both parents of the variety carnea you can be sure that the progeny will also be carnea. The lip of this variety varies from pale cherry to deep cherry color. I'm posting below a photo showing both pale and deep (there are some carneas still paler than this). I'm sure that your plant will most probably be in between these two.

Thank you Mauro! I originally purchased 'tipo', which should have been a nice purple lip, but within the first week, it started looking bad, so the grower replaced it with this one. I really did want a deep purple...one of my favorites is L. amorna v. coerulea I cannot find it here in Canada where I live.
Good growing!

Very nice as usual but I agree. In the first pic. the lip looks a little out of proportion to the overall flower.
