winter blooming catt hybrid recommendations?

Yup, it is not small . Probably about 15-18 inches including spikes. Mine hanging on a tree outside.
Bifoliates I mentioned before, are compact.
And the Angel Lace did not seem too big from pictures.
Oh well....may be others will pitch in.

I'm familiar with Chrysler Imperial roses, and it's a fragrance I like, so I'll have to check it out....

Strong fragrance is good (love my Den. kingianum when it blooms), but heavy or cloying is not. Not really into musky, and prefer rose, fruity (apricot is wonderful), floral (freesia and sweet olive are favorites), citrus, spice, and, of course, chocolate.

15 inches is about as tall as I can go, so I guess that's a bit bigger even than compact? Though I do have room for mounts, so if I can grow some mounted that might work. Hmmmmm....

You might want to try Al's Orchid Greenhouse. If he doesn't list the size, he's great about answering Email. He has a nice variety of cattleyas of all sizes or did when I last looked. He's also a really helpful and knows his orchids really well. He tends to treat them all as if they are part of his personal collection.
I have a few small ones but I don't think any will fit your needs. I have C. walkeriana and C. Snow Blind 'Kenny' that will be small but they are not said to be winter bloomers. My soph cernua isn't fragrant (but is blooming now). Then there is the C. aclandiae which is small, cute and speckled. It blooms twice a year but my seedling hasn't bloomed yet so I don't know when that will be.

The blooming time/fragrance thing seems to be a stumbling bolck, just because it's not listed or the plants haven't read about what they're supposed to do (lol)....I'm also assuming that growing conditions over various parts of the country may also have an impact....

Given that I have limited space (who doesn't), I want to make sure that the plants I add have max impact. I CAN (and have) given away some of my early purchases--you know, the ones we all make when we start this hobby and any orchid is a good orchid--and have gotten more selective about what I add....

Same, here. I had massive oncidiums and have replaced them with mini onc.'s. Did the same with the dendrobiums. The massive cattleyas are more difficult to give away but I have managed to part with some. Unfortunately, I fell in love with some large species cattleyas and there are a few hybrids that I like too much to rehome. Most of what I buy now will stay small.
