Picotee -- Yea, I like catts for sure. As a matter of fact, If I were allowed to grow only one genus/alliance of plants...it would be catts. Thanks for the kind comments.

You're welcome. I got this plant from Ecuagenera...check their schedule to see when they'll be in the US this year. They come to CA at least 2-3 times a year! If you can't make a show in person, they are happy to ship the plant(s) to you once they get into the states. Email Elizabeth for a list of plant and cut off dates for show orders. Contact Us -

I got that gauge at Lowe's and yes, it registers the high and low for humidity and temps. My humidity is highest at night and lower in the day. Does the humidity fluctuate? You bet! And wildly so! I'm happy if it's in the 40's but at times like now (extreme cold days) I'm lucky if it's in the upper 20's-low 30's. While Winter can be drying...October tends to be my driest time of the year and it can dip into the single digits during that time. Then, at other times when it's really humid outside (Spring rains and humidity in Ohio) it can be a good deal higher.

I don't worry about it too much though...too much humidity isn't good for the house or my allergies anyway. As long as I pay attention to the watering needs of the plants I don't usually have much trouble w/most orchids. Of course, I wouldn't try to grow dracs or disa though.

There are some unusual plants in your collection, that are a great challenge to grow. Never seen a Hexisea/Scaphyglottis in a collection. I really appreciate your plants.
Epidendrum ilense as a parent needs wet conditions and is easily affected by leaf fungi.

I was hoping you got it from someone else. I've had this on my Ecuagenera shopping list, they haven't had it available for a while.

Awww...sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed they have it again soon.

If I see it anywhere else, I'll try to remember to let you know.
