so i just bought a cattleya from lowes and wandering on weather or not mounting it

i recently bought a sad looking cattleya from lowes and i was wandering weather on not mounting it. i've heard its best to mount epiphyic orchids because they would grow better and i was wandering weather or not it was true

I've been mounting lots of my recently-purchased cattleyas and they've done wonderfully thus far.

You have to be committed to watering them though.

If you grow your orchids outdoors and you have enough time in your schedule to water often, then mounting a cattleya might work for you. If you grow your orchids indoors, I personally feel it would be better to use a pot.

Hope yours does well. I just found 2 Catts at Lowe's yesterday, I think they had just gotten them, so they were in great shape. One even has a nice sheath, so I suppose it may even bloom. Anyway, good luck and post photos when it blooms!

i shall and thank you did your catts have netting around them and a piece of thick wire?

Mine had netting around them, and one had a rubber band as well, but that's about it. Held them in place pretty well, and didn't seem too much the worse for wear either.
