James, I guess that it is a reason why some plants need initial acclimation to home environment. The vendors generally seem to trim the roots more aggresively (to pass phytosanitary certificate?) for international trade. This makes the acclimation a bit more difficult.

plumania, you are right, the color is somewhat similar to D. unicum.

Paul, it is pretty compact. The pot is 2.75" square, the pseudobulb is 2", and the leaf is 3". But I think it probably will become a bit bigger.

When I acquire a new plant, I get on the Internet to see how other people grow their plant. I know that this is an old thread, but it would nice if Naoki would update this thread...how is the plant doing? Your plant was in bloom in January 2014, did it grow more pbulbs? Etc.
