Not positive about the identification of this one. It's another one from a potting workshop this Summer. The spots on the flower are probably from the recent cold weather. The flower didn't have them when it first open.

Hmmm...I can understand that you're skeptical.

The C. Chocolate Drop is so dark. But on the other hand, it definitely has adopted some of the shape of the Guarianthe aurantiaca, which is one of the parents of Chocolate. While it has the coloring, but not the shape of the laelia blumenscheinii.

Still, it does looks like the apple has fallen really far away from the tree here...

I think the flower is believable for the cross, but I would have expected a taller spike with more flowers, and possibly a compact plant. But is if blooms easily and doesn't spot next time I'd be fairly happy with that.

Very pretty! I don't know what it is but it looks like it could be a Richard Mueller cross.

I, too, am skeptical. Considering Chocolate Drop's coloration, obtaining a spotty yellow is unlikely. Interesting flower though.
