Brassavola "little stars" in bloom
Got this little beauty as a bag baby at Lowe's a few years back. it almost died of neglect several times after being forgotten on various windowsills. so i moved the surviving portion into my already cramped tank and here we are a few months later with 2 blooms (the day before i go out of town for the holidays of course )
not as floriferous as some of the others i have seen around the board, i hope in a few years she will get there. but the fragrance..... i can smell these two blooms from across the room.

Incredible fragrance, isn't it? I bought one of these also and the blooms look just like yours. I love this plant, good growing!

You found that at Lowes! My Lowes almost has no orchids, I have to go to the areas where the asians live to found something decent. Do you know what time of you got it? I was thinking of getting one myself but I am confused about the brassavola and how big they get. I don't want a big orchid, but I want alot of fragrance.

GoldenSunshine, i got this plant a few years back i don't remember exactly when. in terms of size i have it in a 4in plastic pot and it's height (pot included) is probably about 10-12 inches. it really isn't that big of a plant. i'm also pretty sure there are compact cultivars out there. Actually come to think of it hausermann has one: Orchids By Hausermann: Brassavola nodosa (Compact) (3" pot size)

Yep, mine do the same. The fragrance seems to max out after the flower has been open 2 or 3 days. I've got five flowers open right now and the fragrance is unbelievably strong, almost too much! I love this plant, a real easy grower.
