Cattleya trianaei code785 Mutation
What a year! Glad it's nearly over. At last something of some description to share! I bought this plant from Ecuagenera and when it arrived it was massive - near specimen size but I divided it it lol. For some reason the flowers didn't open properly, possibly the move and the dividing of it made it upset but it will settle down. The second picture is how it is supposed to look. Better luck next time lol.

You're welcome. How long have you had yours? I was expecting the usual four or five PB's but this one had loads, no wonder they charged me a small fortune for it lol.

I've had mine about 1 1/2 years, it was in a 3" pot, so has a ways to go. But even then, it had sheaths on every lead (6 of them in that size!). It's grown quite a bit, but still pretty small for a Cattleya. They do seem to make the PBs. So, I guess once it does get to blooming size it should be spectacular!

My PB's including the leaves are 17 - 18 inches so it's in the average size bracket for a standard catt. There are two PB's on the other half of the plant with small, one inch or so sheaths so they have a while to go before the flowers break through. Did you get yours from Ecuagenera too or did you get it locally?

I got mine from Oakhill Gardens, I believe. Mine is not your specific Trianaei, it's one of the coerulea types. But good to know about yours, since I'm sure your experience would apply equally to mine.
