Good potential there. Haven't heard from you in a while. I hope all is well.

Hiya, the disaster earlier this year with my plants knocked the wind out of my sails a little to say the least. I've just had to haul myself up by the back of my neck and just forget about the loss otherwise it was just going to drown me. So, here I be lol.
I had three suspected heart attacks in the past two months so I'm waiting for the results of some tests. I suspect it's referred pain from my back though so we'll see what the results are. Life has been even more interesting this year than I had wished lol.

I may have missed hearing about your chids. Last I remember you had a lovely greenhouse for them. I hope something bad didn't happen to that???
Good luck with the test results. You don't need more bad stuff!

I was away in India for five weeks for a friends wedding and my neighbour who i had 'trained' to look after my plants failed in a dramatic way. he had looked after them before and everything was reasonable. My security cameras filmed him using my dryer so this time I calculated the amount of electricity I needed (there's a meter in this house when I moved in). The power ran out on the morning I got back into the UK. When I got home in the afternoon he had taken the key for the electricity meter key to get more power. He stayed away the entire day and I had to get a new key and that took a few more hours to get.
Anyway, long story shorter, I lost 40 phals, 150 tropical hibiscus seedlings, 15 plumeria, several palms, 55 catts, 14 adult tropical hibiscus, 100 adenium/plumeria seedlings. In total I lost around $5500 - $6000 worth of plants. I set my lawyer on him but that got me nothing but a large bill. There are still about 15 catts that may not make it. Onwards and upwards lol.

OMG, what a fiasco! Makes me scared to go away. We will be away for the month of Feb. with a house sitter for the cats and chids. Hope it has a better outcome.

I certainly wish you much more success than I had lol. I'm going back to Tahiti for two months to house sit for friends next year so I'll be finding someone who is responsible for when I'm away that's for sure lol.

Good luck with that. I know it is hard to find someone who is willing to do it and that you can trust to do a dependable job. We have been lucky so far. We've had our house sitter before and I maybe had several orchids succumb to root rot as a result. But I think I will risk having him leave the chids more dry this time. I'll just soak them all good before we leave and as soon as I can when we get home.
