The coloration pattern is indeed unusual. Can't say anything about the cause, but at least it doesn't look like CymMV infected.

My trianaei is growing well, I've now had it for a little over a year, and it makes the bud sheaths, but no blooms so far! It was a bit small compared to the ones I saw blooming on trees in Colombia, so I guess I have to be patient. Hope I don't have to wait 7 years though!

I have one as well with a sheath so hope it blooms! My plant is fairly large.
