Brassavola NOID
A bromeliad grower gave me this plant a few months ago, and I couldn't be happier to have my first bloom!! Well, perhaps if he'd left the label in the pot . . .

I can only make a guess: Rhyncholaelia glauca x Brassavola nodosa.
Nive plant anyway.

Despite no fragrance, so far anyway, the lip does have some lovely fringing on the sides.
After insects destroyed buds on one plant earlier this year, and my moving another recently, despite knowing better, resulted in the loss of three buds, I'm just so thrilled to have a blooming orchid again!!

Looks like Jiminy Cricket to me. Try smelling it at night when it has been complete darkness for about an hour.

isurus79, you may well be on to something!!
The grower mentioned that there was a special one amongst the group I picked from, and that it may well be the one, and THAT name is ringing a bell.
I've just made certain my room is completely dark, and will check it out before turning in; do you think temperature may impact the fragrance release? My room is on the cool side, though I'd be willing to turn up the heat if it would yield some perfume!!

I honestly have no idea if temperature plays a role in the fragrance! Both parents are fragrant at night in the dark, so the offspring should do the same. Beyond that, I don't know!
