Cattleya General Patton
An old Bow Bells cross from 1952. Flowers are big and extravagantly fragrant.

Some how I wasn't picturing a Cattleya named General Patton to be a big white. I would think something like orange and yellow splash petal for bombs bursting.

This orchid was originally named by Clint McDade as Joseph Stalin. He petitioned the RHS to rename it General Patton, and they made the rare exception to agree to the renaming. McDade saved many valuable English breeding orchids by bringing them to the US during WWII. I am hoping to get an Empress Bells for my collection and am interested in the old Bow Bells crosses.
