I have one of these plants and I THINK I am in the right forum. Evidently there was a name change. But what ever the name I would like to know how to take care of my little charge.
Yes, right forum. I grow my Prostehca's in bark mix, moderate light and water a few times a week. I usually just put it under the sink for a few minutes.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I am confused on the name. Is it Prosthechea or Anacheilium? orchidspecies.com has Anacheilium. Personally I prefer Prosthechea because I know how to pronounce it. lol
Also I read on another thread on this forum that the specific name had to be chanced because the herbarium specimen was a cochleata therefore invalid. Is that right? It sure does look like an alba form of cochleata.

I believe Anacheilium is current - but wouldn't bet my life on it
Anacheilium or Prosthechea depends on whose classification you follow. For hybrid registration it is Prosthechea. RHS and orchidspecies.com do not agree on this. Prosthechea is a lumper's genus. Anacheilium is for splitters.
Yes, lancifolia is now considered a synonym of cochleata, but many plants that were in cultivation as lancifolia were actually trulla. At least one hybrid registration was changed to show trulla as the parent rather than lancifolia.
