No-Pro-mwa I just had to google Jose Mari "Mothers Favorite" to see it Youtube Good golly Miss molly what a beautiful flower and plant...Now I see why you would like a clay pot. Sorry but you may have to wait till spring to find one.. JamesL

Yes James this thing is big and I want to leave it that way for at least now and see if I can have a beautiful display. I think if I can get to some bigger nurseries I may find one or wait till spring. The roots are really growing right now so I am thinking the time is right.

I tried the one in Sheridan which is a little under an hours drive then I tried one in Billings which is in Montana we were there last Thursday and it is 2 1/2 hour drive, no go in either one. They had orchid pots but not that big. All there pots where either to small or were standard, so to deep. I will have to go Christmas shopping so I will have to see if I can find some nurseries and they very well may have one.

Our Walmart only gets these once in a while and not that big. Every Walmart is different, though.

I'm surprised they didn't have them at either HD or Lowe's. Usually between the two of those they have bigger pots.

Probably just my location. They may in the spring. They have bigger pots but I have to have it 10 inches diameter but not to deep. That's why I was looking for an azalea pot. I do like the idea of a basket but I was thinking it might be to messy for inside the house.

The wood baskets you can get in HD, and a bag of lava rocks, use for landscaping, charcoal you can use the organic one, sales in supermarkets just make sure is plain. or maybe in HD or a hardware store

No-Pro-mwa 11-20-2013 12:51 PM

Not our HD, I have never seen them there. Well there just isn't much of a call for orchid stuff here. I don't think we have allot of orchid people in this location at all. Supply and demand I guess, I can't blame them.

I will probably have to split this thing after a couple of years and then I'm guna panic for sure.

I just want to update on this thread. I finally found a big clay pot at a greenhouse in the next town. Not a big box store. After it bloomed I finally get the job done. It was not easy and I broke off 2 yes 2 new growths. Yes I was mad at myself. I had a very hard time getting all the roots untangled. Here are a few pics.

Does it have good dranage? I don't see holes on the sides, if there is none, you could open some also make sure the plant is secure, not loose.
