Default C. walkerana semi alba bloom wierd scent

This turned out to be a pretty semi alba.... Selfing of a good form. The first flower had the scent of burning plastic. Fortunately the other 2 flowers have a much nicer, but scant scent.

Some Catts do have odd aromas. This interests me as it doesn't look totally like C. walkeriana semi alba. Flower shape & lip not right in some respects.

Looks like there is some nobilior mixed in there. It might account for the odd scent. I can't say I've ever smelled xmesquitae or Brazilian Jewel (walkeriana x nobilior) before, so I can't tell you if that is the cause!

Maybe so, I'm certainly no expert on walkeriana. Maybe there were some "impure" genes lurking in the ancestry.
