Default rhyncholaelia glauca

one of the twins. this plant was divided n 1 potted and 1 hung ina tree fern basket. the one in the tree fern basket did so well the potted 1 is ina tree fern basket too.

they each have 2 sheaths with buds in them. n lots of new growths.

I don't see many people growing these and they are very easy to grow and care for. bright light as you can get with no burns. hot temps w/ lots of good water. its got a big ball of NZ sphagnum moss around the roots as you can see it grows wet and sloppy.

I think the flowers will be nice.
to me the Rat didn't get them

blooms comin soon

That is very impressive growth. I would never have guessed that this species could be grown "wet and sloppy."

I would have never guessed sloppy and wet either. I noticed it was always dry in the clay and the new growths were very brittle and prone to popping off at the slightest touch. The + on knockin the eyes off is its put out 2 or more new ones where it gets broken...Doesn't mind being dry just seems to do better moist here in hootown summers. it will be kept drier when the temps drop as that's standard seasonal procedure for most of the plants. hybrids you can play with some all year long. the species kind of have to stick to there schedule for the most part IMO.

Thanks you all Im building new shelfs now n get the metal out. I cant stand these rusty metal shelves n ma' greenhouse
