Default Epidendrum ellipticum

Not a show-stopper, but perpetually in bloom!

This was my first ever ebay orchid purchase some years back, when I was just starting to attempt growing orchids - it was just a smallish keiki. It was chosen for the description of being easy to grow, and the very low price

18 spikes on this 4" plant (tho it is trying to literally break out of the pot right now). Some spikes are more recent, and not blooming yet - others have been going for months, they just keep budding up!

This had done well enough where it had been growing previously, getting a few hours of afternoon sun in summer - but it got REALLY happy late spring, when I moved it to a spot that got sun all morning into mid-afternoon! Some pollinator has also found it in it's new location

Potted in CHC mix in a plastic pot; media is not allowed to dry out.

This is extremely temperature tolerant - mine grows outdoors year-round; temps up to (or just over) 100 for short periods occasionally, down to around freezing for short periods on occasion - but it is sheltered from winter weather (cold rain, wind, frost, freeze); to protect buds - it goes into the garage at night if it may freeze, but in the past when there were no spikes, it stayed out ...

Sorry for the poor bloom photos - they are fairly small
Thanks for looking
