Default Lc Sylvan Sprite 'Blythe Spirit' HCC/AOS

I watched the spike on this one last year until it grew nearly into the ceiling, wound up having to move it and snapped off the flower buds right before they opened.

This year I once again had to move it but kept it intact. It has 3 spikes this year. I haven't counted the flowers and have noticed no fragrance.

Very nice! Congrats. How come it grows to the ceiling. I never heard of a man sized or taller orchid

I'm not real sure about this but I believe Lc Sylvan Sprite is a child of l. anceps and inherited that very long spike from him/her.

I'll try to get out to the greenhouse tomorrow and get some more pictures of the plant to give you a better idea of why I have to move it each year. Each time I think I've fund just the right place for it..it sends spikes as far as it can go.
