L. rubescens semi-alba
A compact laelia.
This is the first time it blooms and only 2 flowers on the spike.

Gwen, laelias are slso my favorite orchids and most of them are vigorous plants.
It's interesting that the flower of rubescens would close gradually after noon. while at night, it is semi-closed.

I am also becoming a big fan of the Laelias!
How can anybody resist when we see all the great photos our OB members post on the site?

Pretty one, Pheli! I've been growing for fifteen years a semi-alba, not so pretty like yours btw, but the flowers in my plant unfortunately are very short-lived, lasting four days at most! I almost lost it years ago, so I put it on a tree branch and there it recovered. I recently took a piece off and repotted again. It is doing well, but did not flower this year.

Are tempts playing out their roles here - Cooler VS. warmer tempts?

Mauro & Gloria, the weather here is cloudy and cool. Day temperaturet. is 65-70 °F while at night, about 60-65 °F.
I also have several pink-colored rubescens, the blooms last for about one week here.

Gorgeous Laelia pheli, it's a sin to have such a robust bloom lasting up to 10 days. Great growing
