NICE!! Totally awesome, okay have to ask a dumb question here. Why is it referred to as a "black Penang" when it is purple and yellow?

C. Penang is a primary hybrid of C. Nigrella x Gur. bowringiana. 'Black Caesar' is the name the person who was awarded 1st decided to name this particular cultivar. Jones & Scully registered this cross in 1963 and this particular cultivar was awarded an 85 point AM/AOS in 1967. So if essence is being purely a matter of DNA my plant is 46 years old
I had to rescue the blooms bec they were sheath bound. I should have known that there was a problem when the sheaths get too fat and wont bust open. You got to help them escape before they get ruined. Lost 3 buds to being trapped. The flowers were just too soft to push thru a double sheath.
Thanks agin ....

..its fragrance fills the small greenhouse with the most heavenly scent. If I had ever met a woman that smelled so good I would have been married with 14 kids...

Very good Rocket. I lost three Magic of Mishima because I didn't pay attention this year. Good you got to those pesky sheaths before you lost these. Nice culture and nice set up. I had that GH until I couldn't get them all into it. Gave it away to a beginner. Easy to heat in winter too. Nice catt.
