So, this weekend I'm picking up a new cattleya schilleriana. My very first species cattleya. So far the culture seems pretty similar to how I grow my Lc,Blc etc. mixes, except perhaps brighter, but since I completely blew the budget on this one, I'd rather hear how you wonderful folks grow yours before I dive right in.
Sorry I don't have the one you mention. I got a jongheana and it seems to be doing fine growing along with my other Catts. Big fat new shoot on it. My other species are doing well too. I bet you'll do well with it.
Oh! The agony! When I went to the orchid show this weekend to pick up my order, the vendor said that he had just mounted the latest batch of catts and he would rather sell it to me toward the end of the year, when it is more established. I was dissapointed, but I must say that I was quite impressed. Some vendors just view orchids as merchandise, so it was nice to meet one who would rather sell me a well established healthy orchid later on than just take the money now and run.
At leat I got my other order from him, a paph. parishii, as well as a new zygo hybrid and a huge den
tangerinum.
