If you know the vendor that sold it to you, you should definitely ask. If it did not come from an orchid-specific nursery, ask whoever sold it where they buy their orchids from.
But, if this was a plant passed on to you from a relative or friend, you may never know for sure - just enjoy.
If I had to take a wild, wild guess, I would guess Lc. Ecstacy 'Orchidglade' is somewhere in the parentage, along with a peloric Cattleya alliance plant. If you do find out what it is, I would be interested in knowing the name!

Unfortunately the plant came from a fellow grower who passed away recently. And from what we can gather HE got most of his plants from another older grower who passed away ages ago. All of this guys' plants were given to a friend of his, who then gave most of them to the local orchid club, and many of them lost their tags in the process. I picked this plant up as a 3 bulb div with 2 buds just three weeks ago. I've never seen anything quite like this catt before, so I was hoping someone would recognize it and at least have some idea what it's parentage is.
Hmm it does look like Lc. Ecstasy 'Orchidglade' could be in the parentage. I definitely see the lip, shape, and color in my plant! Off to orchidwiz to look at Ecstasy progeny!

Well that didn't get me anything, googled all 17 progeny and no pictures that were even close to my orchid.

Wow. Don't recognize it, though I could swear I saw a photo similar somewhere once- a splash petal with a solid lip. It's one I would love to have even as a NOID.

The thing that had me thinking Lc. Ecstacy 'Orchidglade' was the solid coloration of the lip, very pure, no yellow. Ecstacy is a bit more reddish, though.
Even if it is a NOID, it is still quite nice.

I'm pretty sure that it is Blc. Marten Hausermann 'Addison Splash', from just down the road in Chicago.

Great sleuthing JWV- I think you've got it! Now to find a US vendor that has it (it's not in Hausermann's current online catalogue).
