Default decided to mount my schomburgkia got cool surprise!!

Well as stat3d decided to go ahead and mount my schomburgkia and have found not one but 3 new growths!! Glad to see I am doing things right!!

But only thing is the one that has the largest new growth the other older growths have become hollow? They squish between your fingers and go back to shape...almost like the squeaky piece in a dogs chew toy....

The eyes in picture 3 look pretty healthy, but I wouldn't quite say they are growing yet. Hopefully they swell a bit more and then you can be sure! Turning red like that typically means that the light is appropriately high.

And don't worry about the hollow bulbs. In nature the plant grows this way intentionally so that ants can take up residence.

Yes it is, lol. It was a tiny thing when I first got it. Now it has definitely grown, does everything else look okay on the plant that you can actually see. I have recently in another post talked about this plant and I was told it had a fungus. It was given a haircut and a soaking in physan 20. So I am hoping it now looks okay.

Plant looks good to me and I can't see any fungus! Just remember these guys like it warm and VERY bright. That should help eliminate any potential fungus.

Oh well Texas heat and sun usually keeps that up there haha. Thankfully we are having a good rain storm and cooler weather right now anyways...so they are all outside now getting a good rain flush. Haha. But I think by sunday it will be rather warm again.

Nice, well if you are in the Austin area you should come check out the meetings at the Heart O' Texas Orchid Society (Heart O' Texas Orchid Society - Home).
