LC Loog Tone "S.D."
I. am. ecstatic.
After what seems to have been a painstakingly long amount of time, the buds on my favorite LC have finally started to open up today.
The smell isn't as strong as it was on last year's bloom, but I'm hoping that it will continue to develop and increase with time.
Also, this single sheath has 6 buds. Is this normal? Or is the plant just exceptionally happy? I have never had such a high bud count in a Catt/LC before, and the same plant's sheath last year had only 3 flowers.
The picture enhances the flower's green hue a bit, but it is otherwise a quite accurate representation.

nice flowers I have the same hybrid cloned plant and it had 5 buds. 1 got chewed up, 1 was retarded, and 1 just out right blasted and turned yellow. I have 2 that bloomed and Ill post them when I get the chance but completely different coloring. Mine have more of a burnt bronze color with spots. They are waxy and dont smell like much to me right now but they did just open up.
I would say yours is happy is not growing in 104 degree heat

Adorable! I have one in bloom now too! It threw up five sheaths this time. This one really likes to show off! Thanks for posting the pic!

Beautiful! Those cluster style cattleyas can definitely have 6 flowers per stem. That type of bloomer might even produce more flowers as it becomes a larger plant. Good growing.

Lucky you! I had LC Loog Tone years ago and loved it. A very rewarding plant. Good luck with yours.
