Ctt Chocolate Drop 'Kodama' AM/AOS
I acquired this Cattlianthe Chocolate Drop ‘Kodama’ AM/AOS three years ago in bloom. Last year the buds were desiccated within a dried sheath that I hadn’t discovered in time to free them. This year it developed a double sheath. I don’t know if it’s recommended, but I peeled the outer sheath away and buds finally developed in what had been the inner sheath. It is currently in bloom bearing these ten fragrant, waxy flowers.

Gorgeous display. Sometimes you need to perform an operation to release these buds and help it blossom into such beauty.

Very nice! I have one of those but it isn't showing any signs of blooming yet. As far as double sheaths, I've done the same thing. I don't know if it's the right thing to do but I've had water get inside outer sheath and the whole thing rotted. I don't always open the out one but if there's a sign of a problem with a double sheath I do peel away the outer one.

Very nice display of flowers . I got my 1st chocolate drop last week and lo and behold it has buds in the sheath. Hope they look good as yours do.
Nice growing

Very pretty! I really like this one. I have thought of getting this but I am to the point where...if I get a new orchid, something must go. Sigh.
