Blc. Hawaii Stars has been in this wood basket for 5 years. Initially I didn't like it all that much. Now it's become very large and it blooms sequentially on every new growth. It starts blooming in early summer and continues to bloom, one or two pseudobulbs at a time, through the summer and into October. Then blooms again in mid winter, here in Florida. It usually has 6 to 8 flowers per spike. It winds up having blooms on it for 6 or 7 months out of the year.

Yes some just have to grow on you. I love it, probably wouldn't have gotten it but then when you see how it does as a specimen plant it's a must have. The longer they bloom the better the plant, at least to ME!

I think this one is a beauty, but I suppose that is In the eye of the beholder. It is always better to look at flowers than a bunch of leaves, so your description of its flowering habits more than makes up for the looks of the plant.

I think it's very pretty! And the fact that it blooms so often for you makes it even better!
