One of my all time fava. This is very nice. Love the color and striped lip. The fuscia color is beautiful. I have grown these in the past but they are tricky for sure. Watering them is key as is letting them rest. Nice flower here.

I got this, a columbian var tipo dowiana and a var rosita dowiana, among other cattleyas.
And I am attaching some new pictures, sonce the flowers are now fully expanded. Inflorescence, full plant, and the two flowers in natural light.

Should be 7-10 days, though a first bloom might be less. This species has so much fragrance that it expends its flowering energy much quicker than most other Catt species.

These flowers lasdted 5 days, but yes typically first blooms will be short.
