I just got this one today.
I am a sucker for yellow flowers, and yellow cattleya with red lip always draw my attention.
I bought a very similar one called Golden Sparrow last fall when I visited Hawaii, which I no longer have.
This plant is much much smaller than Golden Sparrow, yet the flowers seem slightly larger.
The natural spread is over 6 in on this one.
There are two flowers with huge lips, but one flower has a rather deformed lip (not shown in the pictures).
The plant is not a division and looks like it has flowered twice before in the past.
It was growing in two directions but one of them shows dark rotten dormant eyes.
I'm trying to keep this one. large flowers on a small plant is always welcome.
Oh, and it smells pretty nice too.
