I should mount mine. It is constantly climbing out of the pot and I just bought a piece of tree fern fibre. Only thing is I can't always be around to mist it daily. I wonder if placing the mount in a pot with damp moss would make do when I can't be here?

It would help lessen moisture loss. But the moss would have to be very loosely placed around the mount and roots. Aclandeai don't like wet roots.

That's what I was thinking too. Just got a surprise today when I noticed that I have my first bud on mine!

Not sure yet. It's in a 2" pot at the moment. I'd like to mount it ideally, especially hearing this species may prefer it. I am concerned that I may not have the right environment or the will to mist it daily.

In that case, maybe placing the pot into a basket would work. That would allow the plant to run and attach to the basket without disturbing it.

You could also put it in a clay pot with large grade bark. As it outgrows this pot, just drop it in a larger clay pot with a few chunks of bark (or other material) to separate the pots. Not that much different than using a basket and you don't disturb the roots.

That's a beauty. The roots, in particular, are very handsome (perhaps that's an odd comment regarding roots, but I think orchids roots, when well grown, are quite attractive--and, when they're this abundant, reflective of a good grower too). How do you like the scent of the blooms? Although the flowers are undeniably pretty, I've never been a fan of the fragrance (many others, however, have stated that they enjoy the scent, so maybe I'm in the minority). Congratulations on your beautiful plant and blooms.

Steve
