Lots of pretty flowers and fragrance also, that sounds like a keeper to me. It looks like a bifoliate. They're a little temperamental. That may be why it rested so long before growing again.

Yeah, this plant looks to be a bifoliate.
I see one or two with just one leaf but mostly bifoliate.

Does your tag say what the parents are? really like this but not finding much on it. There is one registered in Orchid wiz from 1960 but there are no photos and the parentage doesn't look quite right for this one to be the same. Just curious.

Silken- The first time I posted this plant last fall, you told me the same thing. Thank you for searching for this plant. The tag just says Lc. Lavendar Lady. It is hand written as most of the tags are from that particular grower. It is also possible that the name is incorrect.
The one you did find that is similar, what does that one say?
I think I see walkerianna given the shape of the flowers.
Monika- I got it from a local grower and they do not sell plants online.
This plant has 8 pbs and the whole thing is a division as I see all but one pb had previously bloomed. One of the bloomed one has a really thick dried up spike, so that one must have had a lot of flowers on it.
I plant to cut this in half when I repot it after flowering is finished. The pb with flowers on at the moment is literally growing its roots out of the pot and I broke some a little.
The thing is you are in Canada.
I wish I was somewhere near like Seattle so we could meet at the border and that would be the easiest way.
I could try and mail it too but it can get caught at the customs.

I recently got a cattleya that was no longer blooming, the tag said 'Pot Love Avenue "serenade', when I googled the image, the colors are very similar with exception of the area where yours has a darker color, mine has yellow, I'm so looking forward to when mine re-blooms, it was already putting out new growth when I got it. how do you divide cattleya's & when do you divide them?

I'm not a cattleya expert, but you are advised to keep 4 leads per division to be on the safe side.
You could go smaller unit but that way each division may take a long time to recover and flower again.
Some people cut the ryizome at the time of repotting, but I have read that many people make half way cut months before repotting.
This way, you encourage the plant to make new growths at multiple locations. and at the time of repotting and division, you already have a few plants well grown, hence much less stress on the plant.
